The Baron is a transitional cast fireplace mantels with the look, feel and texture of natural limestone but are made from hybrid mixtures of gypsum, cement, aggregate and crushed stone, without the slightest aesthetic compromise. Most weigh 200 to 400 pounds and can be installed in a few hours by two people ... about 1/3 the weight of natural quarried stone.

Due to its design, this mantel will fit into a tight / narrow space since its shelf doesn't hang over the side very much.. This style stone mantel surround is available for use with fireplaces measuring from 30" to 43" and the opening height is set at 40" high. Smaller fireplace openings will need to have some facing on the walls between the fireplace and the inside of the mantel leg. There are four stone colors from which to choose and additional 3/4" stone panels to clad the walls around the fireplace or for a raised hearth are also available (as shown in the photograph). 2" Stone Hearths for the Baron include chamfered edges and a choice of two depths.
