Creating a cottage kitchen with wood paneling

Posted by on

Kitchen wood panelingWith spring right around the corner, you might be thinking about projects you would like to complete in your home.  Many of us spend a large amount of time in our kitchen, so why not recreate this space.  Design the Space offers the wood paneling you need to give your kitchen a cozy, cottage feel.  Whether you have an older home, or you are building a new home, a cottage style kitchen is a beautiful asset to your home.  If you are not exactly sure how to get this transformation started, here are some ideas.

Cottage kitchens are a welcoming place to gather with family and friends. Get the look in your kitchen with these style tips. Wood paneling on the walls or ceilings or both is a perfect way to add a cottage feel to your kitchen.  You can paint it white, choose one of our rustic wood finishes, or paint it a beautiful shade or blue or green.

Find some amazing counter stools painted black with a straw seat and mix them with marble countertops.  Gray subway tiles for your backsplash suggest age and timeworn character.  Pair these ideas with distressed white cabinets and an island covered in wood paneling and your cottage kitchen is well on its way!

Another idea for creating a cottage kitchen combined with a chabby chic look is to incorporate wood in different finishes.  From smooth and gleaming to worn and weathered wood surfaces connect cottage decor to nature. Mix finishes for cozy comfort. Choose our rustic wood paneling boards for the ceiling, and wall, and whitewash cabinets. Neutral colors and earthy materials, such as ironstone, galvanized metal, and baskets, look right at home.

We hope that these ideas are a start to get your creative juices flowing.  If you are looking for even more ideas to create a cottage kitchen, we will be following up on them in our upcoming blog post.  Contact us for questions! We look forward to working with you!
